We visit Ahu Tongariki: the largest Moai site of Easter Island. It has 15 moai lined up and includes the largest moai ever erected on the island.
We start this story in the magical land of Anakena. This place has proven to be (and still holds the title) the best anchorage we’ve ever been to.
If you ever get the chance to go to Easter Island, please do. It was a magical place. A bit difficult to have a boat, but the people, the food, and the ambiance was amazing.
The stories about this island were true: Little protection for sailboats and dangerous harbor entrances for dinghies make it a very difficult destination for cruisers.

Adios Rapa Nui – see You in Pitcairn, amigos!
We arrived in Hanga Roa Wednesday, March 27th, and needed to wait for the authorities to give us clearance to step foot on the island.

Took me a few days. I’d say 16 hours to install and 4 hours to source parts. Now she’s done, she purrs, and she’s filling our tanks on SOLAR 6.1gph @ 12.6vdc.
Ecuador was by far the biggest surprise. We wanted to come down here just to jump of to French Polynesia, but we ended up extending our visas and staying for four months.
Here’s a little peek into how we are provisioning for Easter Island. We are filling 10L/20L containers with rice, beans, quinoa, flour, lentils and popcorn.
