We tour a farm in Colombia | Sailing Zingaro – Episode 22

Do you see the SIZE of that thing?! There’s something in the water in Colombia … 🙂

We get invited by a local to his family farm, so we leave the boat at anchor and take a water-taxi, car-taxi, & 4wd jeep to one of the most biodiverse places we’ve ever seen. Wow they sure do grow everything mega-sized here. Join us on our private tour of a Colombian finca.

You guys may recognize Raphael from the last couple videos, he is a business owner we met in Playa Blanca (about 4 hours south of Cartagena, Colombia). We took him on Zingaro for a week or two, and in return he invited us to his family ranch in Cordoba. What a cool place.

We think this is the best EP so far! Kim did a great job editing this.

The most populated island on earth | Sailing Zingaro – Episode 21

Join us as we discover the small, packed, island Santa Cruz del Islote (Colombia) – the most (or second-most) densely populated island on earth! We meet the local leader of the youth environmental club, meet some of the people that live here on the island, and see what there is to see on this small crazy place.

You’re in for a surprise too, Kim and Lucie made a music video at the beginning of this episode.

Let us know what you think. 🙂

Exploring the Country south of Cartagena | Sailing Zingaro – Episode 19

Hi from Playa Blanca, Colombia!

Kim cleans her first fish in this one! I’d say she did a pretty good job – though she’s a master now! She speared and cleaned lunch while I did the dishes… I’m so proud!

We sail down to Colon, Colombia, to check out the local scene. It’s beautiful. And we got some epic drone shots for you. Will say that the bugs down there are ridiculous.

Hope you enjoy!

Girls make the best crew | Sailing Zingaro – Episode 18

Girls took over Zingaro! We are exploring Colombia with our Brazilian friend Idé. She’s never been sailing before, so we wanted to introduce her to this beautiful wet world! Since Kim was on the boat long enough now, she captained the boat for a few days while James enjoyed himself. Leaving Cartagena was a good idea. We really missed the beach and some clear water …

After so many things going so horribly wrong we really needed to have some good times. And so we did!

Enjoy our 18th episode.

Cartagena wasn’t ready for the Zingaro | Sailing Zingaro – Episode 17

We didn’t even look at a picture before we arrived in Cartagena (Colombia). So we thought we were in the WRONG place! It was a HUGE city, awesome people, great nightlife, and a Russian submarine turned bar. This is a cool one. Enjoy folks!

We made it to Jamaica | Sailing Zingaro – Episode 15

Looks like the third time is the charm! The improved Zingaro is finally leaving the Cayman Islands. The ride to Jamaica started out very pleasantly, until we got smashed by a wave that killed all our electronics. I don’t think there is ever going to be a longer passage without a major drama …

Well, one rudder richer and with one computer less we arrived in the land of the green mountains and the Jerk Chicken! Our sail needed a repair and we spent a good deal of our time in Jamaica in cabs.

The rest of our time we were over at Franziska’s place where we had BBQs and Red Stripes with her and her family. We ended up taking Franziska’s advice and taped our sails together to move on to Colombia.
