The thunder rolls… Lightning strikes sailboat | Sailing Zingaro – Episode 24

We get hit by lightning off the coast of Colombia. Worried that the sailboat might be hit again, the first mate sails Zingaro back to Cartagena.

We show you how bad the damage was and what survived. Looks like we are going to have a lot of work to do. At our current estimate the damage ran us just over $1700. Ouch.

Also we’re back to the usual vida broka! Sunken dink and boat-work wherever we look! We still have the portable dinghy, but by now we really are ready for a change.

Hi James, been looking for a good dinghy if you wanted to build one , ( really suggests finding an existing fiberglass and fix up)

The best part is the name , spindrift! They have 9-12′ versions and cheap plans prices and kit but shipping cost! Very good Sailing ability and motor and built in Bouyance
